ankle injury 10 months ago?
last summer (june) i suffered from an extremely severe ankle sprain. i had an xray about a week after it happened and it showed no sign of a break.
unfortunately, i had to do my own at home physical therapy…
it took me a little while to get back into sports because of swelling and pain issues.
i unsuccessfully did cross country in the fall, but was able to fully participate on our varsity basketball team with very minimal discomfort/swelling, if any at all.
now its soccer season..we’ve only been at it for about a week and the pain and a bit of swelling are starting to creep back up on me. i sometimes come down on it a little awkwardly/roll it, which is probably a contributing factor…
is this something i should consider getting looked at again?
since the injury, my left ankle has always been a bit bigger than my right..

I speak from personal experience, get it looked at. Ankle injuries are the worst and sometimes the injury can linger on for an extremely long time. Mine lasted almost two years before I finally was able to get back into regular activity – I had a very bad sprain from hyperextension. And I kept falling down after the injury because my balance was screwed up. Impact stress on an injury that has not healed properly can have severe consequences and I’d recommend to you that you not do soccer – not at all. You aren’t the same, honestly, and without supervised physical therapy you really have a handicap. If any way possible for you to see someone I highly recommend it. And here’s a link for some exercises.

You should go talk to your doctor, that might be the best option, sorry!

We aren’t doctors
As advice givers I suggest you go see a foot doctor (specialist in the field…duh!) or your doctor.
Foot specialists are better because they deal with this kind of thing. Tell them the story you just told us…and the problems you’ve had
and how one foot is bigger than the right.
I mean…nothing was broken…so don’t sprains heal? Something may be wrong.
Good luck.
Also try to get an Xray of your foot.
