Ankle injury from track meet?
Ok. so. i was hurdling at a track meet yesterday and idk what happened but i f*d my ankle up bad. I can’t walk, ive literally been hoping everywhere. My parents don’t think that it is at all bad so they won’t take me to the doctor, plus we cant afford it right now. I have school tomorrow…how am i supposed to go to school when i cant walk?!?
Its only a little bruised and swollen. very minimal but it hurts like HELL. the trainer at the meet said that the ligement righ beside my ankle bone was sprained and the tendon behinde is was hurt in some way. he couldnt tell how bad.
I’ve been icing it and keeping it elevated but i still cant walk on it. if i try to flaten my foot with my weight on it i collapse–i dont know why but i do…
Ive had past injuries on this ankle, so idk if that migh tmake the recent injury worse????

I would recommend for the pain Analgesics such as tylenol, aspirin,or Motrin. Since you said you could not walk I would suspect it is a first or worst case scenario a second degree ankle sprain. If you have school tomorrow (I suspect you are in high school if not still hed my advice) first thing in the morning go to your school nurse’s office. there she will give you a special pass that lets you (if in high school) use the elevator. Believe me I suffered my first ankle injury about 6 months ago i know how it feels. if you cant afford going to the doctor you may buy an ankle brace or ankle support. You can talk about you financial hardship with your school nurse. He/she may help you. it is really important that you go see a doctor he will recommend you to a podiatrist.
Podiatrist = foot doctor.
Hope this helps.

That is really bad if you can’t walk..you NEED to see a doctor. Seriously.. it could be a stress fracture or something. If your parents can’t take you to the doctor, I’d recommend using crutches.. if you don’t have some, buy some or borrow a pair! Don’t try to walk on it. Ice it and elevate it and if it doesn’t get better within a week, definitely go to the doctor!
