Can ankle boots like these be worn in the summer?

I want to wear ankle boots similar or exact to the link above. The only problem is that it’s summer. A friend of mine told me that it would be weird to wear ankle boots in the summer. What do you think?

No. I think those would be fine to wear in the summer. Especially because they have the opening in the toe.

Yes, if you know what to wear them with.
Don’t wear them with tights – those aren’t very summery. Weird though it sounds, wear them with… socks! Now I know that sounds weird, so here are some examples:

I would wear the socks a little higher up than these photos, but you never know.
Oh, one thing: ONLY wear these if you’re a citygirl. They can’t be pulled off anywhere else.

The tan ones are summer-worthy. The darker color is too heavy for summer.
