Foot Braces
Her condition turned from bad to worst after surgery that is a year and a half ago. she is suffering so bad and it is now affecting her work because she cant stand long enough without hurting. She had tried physical therapy and foot brace and nothing seemed to help. She’s worried that it may cost her job beacuse there are days that she have to leave work early beacause of pain and also declining over time to finish her job.

It is not likely…she would need to prove that she is completely unemployable…even with a career change. You would have a better bet claiming she has a disability and having an employer make accomodations to meet her disability. Yet, her current employer is not under obligation to do so since she did not have the problem when she started. It’s a very tricky game.
The best thing for her to do is to talk to her current employer to see how willing they are to make accomodations for her…being retrained in another job, being allowed to sit, etc. Take a cooperative initiative rather than be on the defensive or persecutory side. Most companies that have a good relationship with an employee will try to make a reasonable accommodation.
If you do decide to file for disability, she would need to demonstrate that accomodations were attempted for her to overcome her disability. It’s a very lengthy process and could take several years to approve…best done with the advice of a lawyer.
