How long should i wait to skateboard after a broken ankle?

i broke my ankle last Friday at my local skate park, and on march 1st 2010 i got surgery.. my doctor said it would probably take me a month or two to start walking. so after i recover from my injury and i start walking. when should i start skateboarding again? any suggestions from any skateboarders that have had the same experience? tips or warms ups after i heal from my ankle? any special stretches you do before skateboarding? anything will help thanks

back in october i was out in the school parking lot and i stepped 1/2 way in a pot hole and my ankle came up and touched the inside part of my leg and then turned very numb for like 20min. then came the pain…. that was like 10 minutes before volleyball pratice and i told the coach i was in pain but she still made me run on it. after pratice i told my parents what happend and for the next week i rested it but we didnt get an xray right away. like a month after it happed it started too feel better so i tried out for the basketball team and made it. i was running on it for a week and then i resprained it. this time we went to the doctor and she had me in a leaate brace. that didnt help so we sceduled a physical therapy appointment. i went 3 times and it wasnt helping. so we continued with a new doctor and she recommended me to an orthipeidicatrition. (the person who specailizes in braks and sprains and stuff like that.) well i went to that person and he had me get xrays and fitted me for a walking boot. i have been in this for 2 weeks and it is not getting any better. so i again went to my orthopedrition.. (ill call him my ortho) and he gave me more detailed xrays and still found nothing. now he is sending me to get an MRI. on wedensday…….. this is where you tell me what you think is going to happen…. i may have to get a cast or he may say go to pain therapy
he also said he can see swelling and brusing. so im not faking…. oh and remember this all happened in october of 2009
also im only 13

How often should I wear an ankle brace (and how effective is it for flat feet)?

I’m really flat footed. I have some nice custom inserts, but ever since I first got the inserts I have been super paranoid. I want to go do officer candidate school after grad school, so I’d like to not totally write off running. I have switched things up: way more biking and swimming. Anyways, I also hike a lot. And last time I went I almost sprained my ankle. Should I wear an ankle brace more often? …only when I run? …ever? Anyone have any personal experiences?

Does this sound like shin splints?

I have a bruise about 3 inches above my inside ankle but it isn’t just sore on the bruise but all around. On my other leg there isn’t a bruise but the pain is the same. I started running regularly about a week ago running about an hour or two a day on my treadmill along with an exercise tape. From what I’ve described do you think these are shin splints(anterior or posterior) if not what else could it be and what can I do to fix it?
