Foot/ Ankle Tendon Injury?
My mom has been repeatedly injuring her foot and ankle over the past couple of months. The first instance happened when she was walking at a moderate pace. The doctor said she tore a tendon. She couldn’t walk or move her foot without a lot of pain. That healed after a week or 2. Soon later, she hurt her foot again. Several days later, after primarily using her uninjured foot to move around in a wheel chair, she injured that one too. She’s able to walk very little after a couple of weeks, but then very easily injures it again. What could be wrong that she injures or foot tendons or whatever so easily?
These past couple of years, she tried losing weight by practically starving herself, by eating very little. To an extent, it worked. She’s down to 190 lbs, but at the cost of her health. Her mother had arthritis and osteperosis, if that has anything to do with this. Something else must be wrong if she gets injured by just walking, or perhaps the original injury never healed.

Tendons and ligaments that have already been damaged are then often weak and prone to more injury. Get your mom to see a podiatrist and have a biomechanical assessment done so they can see if its maybe the way she walks that causes her to have so much injury. They will also be able to give her advice on strengthening the damaged tendon.
Hope this helps.
