Knee Braces
I broke my leg. Now I attend pt. The physical therapist said that I may need to get a knee brace that bends the knee by itself. They want this because my knee may become too stiff too soon. I was wondering what the name of this brace is so I can do some research on it. Please help.

I’ve heard of these;; although I’ve only experienced use of a CPM or Biodex/Cybex passive machines;; you will have to contact your PT & find out his supplier because these are NOT prevalent;; he/she should have no problem sharing this info with you;; the CPM, forget cuz your insurance will not pay for it (not now);; the biodex or cybex, well, your PT facility would/could have these, but they are machines (huge), not something you can just throw in the back seat of your car;; you’ll also need to contact your insurance & see if they even pay for this "dynamic" brace, then get a script from your doc…good luck, wish I could help more;; but there are no secrets if ya just ask;; contact your PT…
he/she MAY be telling you about common hinged braces, like Donjoy, that have adjustments you can make in range but these are gradually increased & set for a desired range (progressively);; just ask your PT for the specs on this….
